I first picked up a hammer and a calculator in college as a way to help pay for art school, and after moving to New York in 1980, I began renovating lofts with an artist friend. We called our company Blazing Hammers, and renovated lofts for artists by day and made art by night.

Since then, I’ve successfully built, supervised, contracted, managed or administered over $40 million of custom residential construction projects.
